Retrying Failed Product Syncs
Retrying Failed Product Syncs
When a product sync fails, you can retry it after fixing the underlying issue.
Finding Failed Syncs
- Go to Data in the sidebar
- Click Products
- Look for entries with a red Failed status badge
- Recent failures appear at the top of the list
Understanding the Failure
Before retrying, understand why the sync failed:
- Click on the failed product sync entry
- Review the error message
- Note the product SKU and any specific details
Common Error Types
| Error | Meaning | Action Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate SKU | SKU already exists in destination | Check for existing product, update SKU |
| Invalid field value | Data format issue | Fix the source product data |
| Required field missing | Mandatory field is empty | Add value to required field |
| Unauthorized | Connection issue | Reconnect HubSpot or QuickBooks |
Fixing Common Issues
Duplicate SKU
- Check the destination system for existing product with same SKU
- Either delete the duplicate or change the source product's SKU
- Retry the sync
Invalid field value
- Review the source product in HubSpot or QuickBooks
- Fix the problematic field (prices should be numeric, etc.)
- Retry the sync
Missing required field
- Identify which field is missing from the error
- Add the required value to the source product
- Retry the sync
Connection issues
- Go to Settings then Connections
- Reconnect the affected system
- Return to retry the sync
Performing the Retry
Once you've fixed the issue:
- Go to Data then Products
- Find the failed sync
- Click the Retry Sync button
What Happens During Retry
After clicking retry:
- Status changes to Pending
- The sync is queued for processing
- Product data is fetched from source
- Product is created/updated in destination
- Final status is Success or Failed
Using Full Sync Instead
For many failed products, a full sync may be easier:
- Fix all underlying issues first
- Go to Settings then Sync then Products
- Click Start Full Sync
- All products from source are re-synced
This is useful when:
- Many products failed for similar reasons
- You've made bulk changes to products
- Initial setup had issues
Retry Limitations
Which syncs can be retried
- Failed status - Can be retried
- Pending status - Can be retried (re-queues the sync)
- Success status - Cannot be retried (already completed)
- Processing status - Wait for it to complete first
Product sync must be enabled
If product sync is disabled, retries won't work. Enable it in settings first.
Tips for Reducing Failures
- Standardize SKUs - Use consistent format across both systems
- Complete required fields - Ensure products have all necessary data
- Test with one product - Before bulk imports, test single products
- Monitor regularly - Check sync logs to catch issues early
If Retry Keeps Failing
If the same product keeps failing:
- Verify the source product data is valid
- Check the destination system for conflicts
- Review field mappings for issues
- Try creating the product manually in destination to identify the problem
- Contact support if issues persist
